How to 4 wheels tractor operations training
FOUR WHEEL TRACTOR OPERATION

Tractor Main Functions And Duties The main tasks and functions of a
tractor when coupled with an additional equipment in the form of an
implement/plow can act as a tool for tilling the soil before planting. Besides
that, the tractor also has another function, namely as a driving force for other
agricultural machinery equipment through a power take off (PTO) which is
channeled to the machines to be driven. Along with technological developments,
four-wheel tractors have made a lot of progress both in terms of design,
high-tech features as well as expanding their use and function in the field
according to human needs.
A Guide To Safe Farm Tractor Operation
Classification of 4-wheel tractor
by function
- Crawler tractor, ie tractor with chain wheels
- Standard Row Crop, commonly used in various plantations
- High clearance, a tractor with a high ground clearance, suitable for vegetable plantations or shoot care
- Orchard, a tractor used in large tree plantations, is quite slim and easy to turn
- Multipurpose, can be used for various purposes
- Lawn And Garden, for the garden
- Tree Skidder, used to pull freshly felled wood
- Skid Steer Loader, has a loader in front of it
- Four Wheel Drive with front steering wheel, 4WD tractor whose front wheels are smaller than the rear wheels. This type of tractor has great traction so it has a strong pull.
- Four wheel drive with equal sized wheel and articulated steel framing. The front and rear wheels of this tractor are the same size, can be used for heavy land.
Classification of tractors based
on their driving power
- micro tractor,
- Mini tractor, 17-29 hp
- Medium tractor, 29-60 hp
- Big tractor, 60-107 hp
- Very large tractor, >107 hp
1. Engine (Diesel Engine)
2. Front and rear wheels
3. Steering (Steering)
4. Operator seat
5. Front Ballast
6. Plow/ Rotary
7. Brake Pedal
8. Gas pedal
9. Hydraulic Adjustment Lever
10. Gear Handle
11. Rearview Mirror
How to operate the Four Wheel Tractor
Before operating it, we should know the control parts or other instruments related to the operation of the four-wheel tractor.
- Starting the Tractor Engine
- Have a good seat in the seat
- Install the parking brake
- All adjustment sticks must be in the neutral position
- Insert the ignition key and turn it to the right towards “on” see if the oil pressure indicator light is on
- Fully depress the clutch pedal and turn the ignition to the left towards the “preheater” for about 10-20 seconds. Pay attention to whether the preheater indicator glows indicating that the combustion chamber has been heated enough.
- Turn the ignition to the right to the "start" position, then the motor starter will turn the engine. After the engine starts immediately release the ignition so that the ignition key will return to the "on" position by itself.
- After the engine starts, the oil pressure control light must go out, if it remains on, turn off the engine immediately and check the lubrication system
- Fully depress the clutch pedal
- Move the main speed change stick and PTO speed change stick to the desired speed.
- Release the parking brake
- Increase engine acceleration by using the handle or acceleration pedal
- Release the clutch pedal slowly and the tractor will start moving.
- Install the plow as needed (Singkal or rotary plow)
- Raise the RPM at a constant speed by using the hand acceleration lever
- Step on the clutch, enter the low gear and turn the rotary lever
- Release the clutch slowly
- Run in the desired direction
- When making a turn the implement must be lifted to avoid damage/breaks to the implement.
Stop the Tractor
- Reduce engine speed
- Step on both the clutch and brake pedals and the tractor will stop.
- Move the main speed change stick and PTO to neutral and release the speed pedal.
Reconnect the left and right pedal locks then the parking brake.
